Caring for your wood
Our chopping boards, pizza boards, and food presentation boards are made from solid natural Mango or Acacia wood. We recieve our wood in a raw (untreated) state. We use a food grade mineral oil to keep our boards in their best condition. This brings out their natural colour, prevents them from looking dry, and helps prevent food and grease from staining the wood.
If you are using your board for food, greaseproof paper is a good barrier between your food and the board, as it prevents the oils and colours from marking your wood, and prevents deep cuts from implements. Remember, boards with deep grooves are unhygienic and will need replacing if not sealed.
If you scratch your board, simply sand it down with some fine grade sand paper in the direction of the grain, apply a new coat of mineral oil, and your board will be as good as new.
How to keep your boards in their best condition:
- Keep your boards regularly oiled with mineral oil - we don't recommend using olive oil etc as this can turn rancid.

- Avoid submerging your board in water, as this is likely to make the board split and warp, and never put them in the dishwasher! Wipe over with a hot soapy cloth and dry immediately, or use an antibacterial spray.
- Store the boards in a dry environment. Extreme cold/hot temperatures can make your boards warp or split.
